Newsy Email #79 - Friday 23rd August

Dear All, I hope you're having a good week and enjoying the sunshine.

We have some great services coming up in Church this Sunday.
At 9am we have our Traditional Communion Service with hymns, and at 10.45am the Family Service with music of a more contemporary style.

Looking ahead, there are lots of good things coming up in September.
Messy Church on Saturday 7th at 3pm, and the Saturday Family Services start again on the 14th!

We're running the highly recommended Alpha Parenting Teenager's Course again on five Wednesday evenings, starting 18th Sept, 7pm to 9pm in Church.
Please email me if you'd like to book a place or find out more ([email protected]).

Then the Heritage Open Days Weekend, 21st/22nd September when the Church and grounds will be open for visitors, with a flower festival in Church involving local organisations. It's a great opportunity to find out more about what is on offer in this wonderful community, as well as to enjoy live organ music, and learn more about our heritage, including the stained glass windows in our beautiful Church. Please click here to learn more.

On Saturday 21st the String of Beads ladies choir are in concert, 7pm in Church, tickets are £5 to include refreshments from Julie Horan or Jonathan Lacey, in aid of our organ bellows fund.

Do you enjoy singing hymns? If so, our organist Jonathan Lacey would love to hear from you! We're having a special 'Songs of Praise' to finish off the Heritage Weekend at 6pm on Sunday 22nd September, where we'll be able to enjoy some of our favourite hymns with the Organ, and he'd like to gather together a group of singers for the occasion, the 'St Wilfrid's Singers!'
No auditions required, we're just looking for enthusiasm!
Afternoon Tea will be available from 4pm on the Sunday afternoon.

And finally, if you could join our welcoming team for the Heritage Weekend, I'd love to hear from you ([email protected]).
We'd like to offer refreshments each day, and generally be a welcoming presence for all our visitors (just an hour would do). Can you help?

With best wishes,
Revd Sue.
