Newsy Email #195 - Friday 16th October

Dear All,
I hope you’re having a good week.

We had a great start to Robin’s time with us last Sunday. If you missed his sermon on growth, you can catch up with it online here.

Coming up on Sunday 18th we have a Communion service at 9am with hymns, and a Family Communion Service at 11am, with contemporary worship.
Children are welcome at both services. Many of us are finding that we're connecting with the words of the worship songs more deeply at this time of being unable to sing them, that we're all appreciating worship in a new way, so if you have not returned to Sunday worship yet, do come and give it a try.
This weekend we're also looking forward to hearing Richard Jobes preach at both services, so we are in for a treat.

Do any of you have graphic design skills? We are looking for someone to help us with publicity during Advent. If you might be able to help, please reply to me.

Looking ahead, Remembrance Sunday is coming up on 8th November.
This year it will be a bit different, as public gatherings outdoors are not allowed.
We will be holding a special Remembrance service in church at 10:30am, which will need to be pre-booked. More details about this will be available next week.
However, for everyone in the community, we're going to create a ‘Remembrance Garden’ in our church grounds, around the war memorial, which will be open all day on Sunday 8th November for people to come and lay wreaths informally, or to plant a poppy in the grass nearby. Please do make use of this opportunity, and please spread the news that this is for everyone. We are asked not to gather in groups; there will be plenty of time during the day for us to come and pay our respects whilst also abiding by social distancing guidelines.

As Robin said last week, God knows the plans he has for us, to give us a future with hope. So let’s hold on to that!

God bless you,
Revd Sue
