Newsy Email #196 - Friday 23rd October

I hope you’re enjoying the Autumn colours this week.

If you missed Richard’s sermon last Sunday, you can catch up with it here.

This coming Sunday, Robin is preaching at both the 9am Communion, and 11am Family Service, which is especially geared to children and families, and will include some of our favourite worship songs.
Do come along! We have plenty of socially-distanced seating available.

On Sunday at 9am we will also be re-electing our Churchwardens, Sandra and Dan, and will be holding our annual meeting (APCM) immediately after the 11am service. It won’t be a long meeting, but it is an important time to give thanks for the past year, review the way ahead, and elect some new PCC members and a new Treasurer. Do stay for it if you can. We're also looking for two Deanery Synod reps. Annual Report booklets are available to look at in church.

Looking ahead, we are entering a season of remembering.
We cannot hold outdoor events, but we are holding a 'smaller than usual' Remembrance Sunday Service on 8th November at 10.30am. We have a limited number of places, so if you would like to attend this years' service, please book in advance with Sandra Tempest ([email protected]).
There will also be a short Communion service at 9am for those who would prefer to attend church earlier, and then watch the Remembrance events later.

We're also designating the space in front of the war memorial in the churchyard as a 'field of poppies' from 8th to 11th November, so everyone can come and plant a poppy, or a cross, in the grass near the memorial during the day on 8th, or on the following days. Everyone from the community is invited to come and make their own act of remembrance, observing social distancing guidelines, throughout this time. Poppies and small wooden crosses will be available in church on Sunday 1st November, with thanks to Nicola and Olivia.

God bless you all,
Revd Sue
