Newsy Email #197 - Friday 30th October

Dear Friends,
Well nearly November already!

We had a really encouraging APCM last Sunday, reflecting on the blessing of Phil’s ministry amongst us, and looking forward with hope and confidence to the future. Welcome to our new PCC members: Kim Raja, Richard Jobes, Richard Crooks, and Julie Horan, also our new Treasurer Nicola Lightfoot, and our new Deanery Synod rep Rachel Rudman. Do pray for our PCC and the decisions to be made in the coming weeks as the process to find a new Vicar for our church continues.

This Sunday is All Saints Day, and we have a Communion service with hymns at 9am, and a Family Communion service at 11am with contemporary worship, to which children are especially welcome. Robin Gamble will be preaching at both, and there is plenty of socially-distanced space in church, so do come.
If you are self-isolating, remember that you can catch up with sermons after the service via our website here.

British Legion poppies & wooden crosses will be available in church this Sunday.
Remember that you can plant your poppy, or cross, near the war memorial in our churchyard any time during the day on 8th November, and on the following days up to 11th November.
We’re looking forward to seeing a beautiful ‘Field of Poppies’ as a sign of our continued thankfulness and respect for those who gave so much to ensure that we could live in peace and freedom.

Online Messy Church is coming up on Saturday 7th November, and the team have been busy preparing activity bags to go with it, that you can collect from church this Sunday any time from 8.30am to 12pm.

Have you tried joining us for Online Morning Prayer?
A team of us prepare prayers and a reflection for each weekday, available on our YouTube channel at 8am. At this time when many are feeling weary and in need of spiritual refreshment (as Robin spoke about in his sermon last week), praying with others, even if it is online, can help to sustain us.
Why not give it a try?

May God bless you all,
And we hope to see you again soon,
Revd Sue
