Newsy Email #198 - Friday 6th November

Dear Friends,

After an encouraging few weeks, we find that churches are now closed again for public worship until December. Therefore, we have rearranged our plans for this week and we're currently preparing a very special online Remembrance Sunday service, which will be premiered live on our YouTube channel at 10:30am this Sunday, so please do join us all together online at this time.
The service will still be timed to include the 2 minute silence at 11am.
Our church will also be open for private prayer on Sunday, from 10am to 12pm.

We're also doing something really special in the church grounds, in the area around the war memorial. Please come and support us by planting a poppy, or a poppy cross, in our ‘Field of Poppies’ any time from now onwards, as a mark of respect for all who have given their lives to enable us to live in freedom.
We’d love to see a really beautiful display, and everyone in the community is invited to come and get involved, socially distanced of course, so please do spread the word. Poppies will be made available in the church porch on Sunday from 10am, for a donation to the Royal British Legion.

Tomorrow morning, we'll be sharing another online Messy Church service, following the journeys of St. Paul, so look out for the email from Brenda & team tomorrow. All are invited to join us online for a great session of Bible stories, crafts, and songs!

Finally, we’d love more people to sign up for our Newsy Emails, so that we can keep in touch with everyone, which is especially important at the moment.
So do please encourage anyone you know who doesn’t already receive these to visit calverley.church/newsyemail and sign up. Thank you.

May God give us all grace, courage, and hope.
Blessings,
Revd Sue
