Newsy Email #201 - Friday 27th November

Dear Friends,

This weekend we begin a really special season of light, joy, and hope, because
This Sunday is Advent Sunday:
Stars will shine
Doors will open
Candles will be lit
Invitations will be given

Our special online Advent Service on Sunday will be a Family Communion, with Robin preaching, and some great worship, premiered at 9am on our YouTube channel, so do join us!

We will also be launching our special ‘Light in the Darkness’ project this weekend, with a banner outside church, ‘lights in the darkness stars’ in the trees outside and on the church tower, and lots of Advent cards to distribute around the village, giving details of all our Christmas services.

We're looking for 30 volunteers who could each deliver 20 Advent cards to their neighbours. Please contact [email protected] if you can help.
Packs of cards can be collected from church this Sunday (29th), 10am-12pm, or we can deliver them to your house. We’d love as many people as possible to be invited to join us, online or in person, so please take plenty of cards to hand out.
You can also find some in the church porch.

Seats for our Christmas services will need to be pre-booked this year, or can be watched live online, so look out for more details on how to do this next week.

John has co-ordinated an exciting Advent Bible verse a day project, a really encouraging selection of verses chosen by members of our congregation.
Thank you so much to all those who have contributed. They will be posted every day on our Facebook Page.

Messy Church December craft packs will be available for families to collect tomorrow (Saturday 28th) 10-11am, or on Sunday (10am-12pm), so that you can join in with the activities at home. Messy Church will be shared online next Saturday 5th, packed full of songs, stories, and activities for Christmas!

And a reminder that the last collection time at church for your donations towards The Bradford North Foodbank Christmas Appeal is this Sunday (29th), when church is open for prayer, 10am-12pm.

Finally, the good news is that churches can open for public worship again from next week, so we will have services in church at 9am and at 11am on Sundays in December. Do come!

Blessings,
Revd Sue
