Newsy Email #204 - Friday 18th December

Christmas is here! We began with a great sense of worship and light at the Special Carol service on Wednesday, and now we have lots of beautiful Christmas services coming up. I’d like to encourage you to join us in worship as we celebrate the coming of Jesus.
Robin

Dear Friends,
This weekend we have Christingle services on Saturday at 4pm, and on Sunday at 11am, which are both fully booked, but you can join us live for the Sunday Christingle service on our YouTube Channel. For those coming to Church, please remember to bring your own Christingles, because we are not able to hand them out at services.
And please give generously to The Children’s Society, whose work we support.
Our contactless card reader will be available at all services over the Christmas season, for your donations to The Children’s Society, and to support the work of our church.

On Sunday morning we have a Communion service at 9am, for which you don’t need to book. Robin will be preaching, and Jonathan will be playing beautiful Advent hymns on the organ, and we are being very careful with extra cleaning and social distancing, so we do hope you’ll feel able to join us.

At 4pm on Sunday afternoon we have our first Family Carols service, a service of readings and music for Christmas, by candlelight, for which there are still a few places available if you'd like to join us.
If you’d like to come, please email Sandra at [email protected].
This Family Carols service will also be live streamed on our YouTube channel.

Next week, on Christmas Eve we have our 2nd Family Carols service at 2:30pm, Carols by Candlelight at 7pm, and Midnight Communion at 11.30pm.
There are still a few places available for Midnight Communion if you’d like to join us in church, and all these Christmas Eve services will also be live streamed on our YouTube channel, so that those unable to attend church can still join with us in celebrating this special season.
Although the congregation are not allowed to sing, Becky will be singing some solo pieces at 7pm and at Midnight, with Jonathan accompanying her on organ.

On Christmas Day we have a special Family Communion service at 10:30am.
All the places are booked, but you can also join us live on our YouTube channel.

Looking ahead to Sunday 27th, we will just have a 9am Communion service.

Members of our congregation have been blessing us with a wonderfully encouraging selection of Daily Bible verses for Advent. If you haven’t already seen them, do take a look at our Facebook page, where a new verse will continue to be posted each day until Christmas Day.

Online Morning Prayer has been going really well, premiering on our YouTube channel every weekday at 8am, and also available to watch later if you wish.
Our Daily Morning Prayer services will be taking a break now until 4th January, but do catch up with John and Pauline’s latest Morning Prayer service here, in which they give a really helpful reflection on church, and on reading the Bible.
We’d love more of you to join us online if you can in 2021.

May the God of light and love bless us this Christmas with his radiance and joy,
Revd Sue
