News from Azaria Spencer

Many of you will know Azaria, our overseas mission partner, who we have been supporting financially for several years now. She spoke to us by video last June (click here to watch again), and we’ll be hearing more from her during Lent, again by video.

Lent begins this week, and we’ll be starting with a special Ash Wednesday service, filmed in church, available on our YouTube channel any time after 7:30am on Wednesday.

Starting next Sunday 21st, Azaria will be speaking to us in our online services via a short video each week, giving us an insight into her work and ideas for prayer. We’re really looking forward to hearing all that she has to say about life in Guatemala.

You can read more about Azaria’s story, her work with street children in Guatemala City, and how to sign up for her prayer emails online here.

We're looking for someone to be the contact person for Azaria at St Wilfrid’s, who can keep us as a congregation up to date with her news and prayer requests, especially once she returns to Guatemala in May. Can you help?
Please contact Sue at [email protected] if you’d like to know more about this role. Thank you.

For now, here is the latest from Azaria:

Hello everyone at St Wilfrid's,
I am Azaria Spencer, a Church Mission Society Mission Partner linked with your church. I am back in the UK at the moment and taking time to connect with my supporting churches, so I look forward to connecting with you all more while I am here.

I would like to thank you all again for your support and prayers, if you would like to be praying for me in these coming weeks here are a few requests:

• Please join me in giving thanks to God for His provision and protection, His hand was clearly over my return to the UK.
• Please also pray for me as I adjust to life back in the UK for a few months, especially with the additional challenges we are all facing with COVID.
• Please be praying for my connections with link churches and supporters as we all learn how to navigate time together virtually instead of in person.
• Pray also for my time here, that I will be able to see more of my family soon, before I have to return to Guatemala in May.
• Finally, please pray for the children and young people I serve and work with in Guatemala and their families.

Thank you again, I hope to 'see' you all soon.
Blessings,
Azaria
