Dear Friends,
I’ve been absolutely bowled over by your generous financial gift, and by the many beautiful cards and words of appreciation that I’ve received in the days leading up to my final services with you at St Wilfrid’s last weekend.
I can’t really begin to put into words how much you all mean to me.
I count it a huge privilege to have been the Curate at St Wilfrid’s over the last few years, and to have been involved at the heart of everything that’s going on as we’ve grown and flourished as a church, and as individuals.
St Wilfrid’s really is a very special place, as is the community of Calverley, and I will always remember you with thankfulness. We’ve done some great things in the last few years, and we’ve had a lot of fun with social events such as Ceilidh’s etc, so I have many happy memories.
As I said in my sermons last Sunday, I believe that God has even more in store for us, both for me out at Kirkby Malham, and for you here in Calverley, Immeasurably More. He calls us into new things, often at unexpected moments in our lives, so keep listening to his voice!
My licensing service at St Michael the Archangel, Kirkby Malham, will be on Monday 14th June at 7pm. I’m so sorry that the service is only for those with invitations due to the COVID restrictions, but we are hoping that it will be livestreamed. I’ll send details nearer the time when they are confirmed.
In the meantime, as St. Paul says in Ephesians 3:20:
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever!
Amen.
So may God bless us all, pour out his Spirit upon us this Pentecost, and in the coming days, may he fill us with his peace, enliven us with his joy, and surprise us with his exciting purposes!
