Newsy Email - Wednesday 20th June
Hi all,

Firstly, many thanks to all those who were involved with the Ladies Pamper Evening on Saturday. Many have commented on how good it was and a lot of work went into it.

After a world cup win the whole national mood looks up. Hopefully you managed to see some of the match!
Over the coming weeks we will bring hope to many locally through the worship and outreach events coming up:

This weekend we continue with our Jesus-Shaped People series on Team Building.
On Sunday Andrew Tawn will be joining us. He's the director of clergy development in the diocese and curate training in the Leeds area.
Andrew is a wise and experienced priest who will be really good value.

We also have two children being baptised on Sunday afternoon.
Please pray for the families.

Looking ahead, on Thursday 5th July we will be playing in a cricket match against Pudsey Parish at Calverley St. Wilfrid's Cricket Ground.
As we normally do, this will be based on everyone batting for 4 overs, staying in, and everyone getting a bowl.
We’re currently looking for all abilities, please let me know if you feel ‘called’ to help with the team!

On Saturday 7th July at 3pm we have Messy Church.

After Sunday morning services on 8th July we’re having a special service to celebrate the NHS at 3pm.
We want to recognise all the people who work in the NHS locally and nationwide. It will be followed by a cream tea.
Please mention this to anyone you know who currently work (or have worked) in or with the NHS in anyway.

On Wednesday 11th July at 7pm we have the final Team Building event in Church.
It will be a BBQ! It also happens to be the wood run for the school and we’re hoping to support them by supplying drinks.

Finally, on Saturday 14th July at 7pm, in The Barn we will be having a celebration meal!
Simon Jowett has kindly agreed to do the catering, for which I’m really grateful.
This is an event that you must RSVP to! The invitations will go out this Sunday and need to be back on or before Sunday 8th July.
Last year it was great and will be again this year. In order to manage numbers, if the weather is good, we will have some outside tables and tables upstairs!

So, there is lots to look forward to over the coming weeks.
On a personal note, we fly to Australia on 19th July and will be away for 5 weeks. If you need to see me about anything, please do let me know before then.

Blessings,
Phil
