Newsy Email #231 - Saturday 19th June

For all those who weren’t able to be there, a small representative bunch of us from St. Wilfrid’s were up at Kirkby Malham on Monday night for Sue’s licensing service. I think quite a few of you watched it live online. The whole evening reminded me again of how much this constantly generous woman gave to us at Calverley. It was a really good occasion, which launched Sue and Paul together into the next chapter of their lives.

Meanwhile, Back at Base.
As we continue to gradually come together on Sundays, there is a lovely and deep sense of worship, prayer, and the joy of gathering again.
However, I have a couple of concerns that I would ask everyone to be aware of and to pray about. Firstly, I think the 11am congregation is not reforming as well as the 9am. I think this is probably down to summer days, families to be visited, and endless sports. May I encourage us all to work through this and gradually re-congregate this wonderful congregation.
Secondly, we have been particularly concerned during lockdown about our children’s and youth ministries. There are now some really positive steps being made here. We're running a children’s work on alternate Sunday mornings and are hoping to move to a weekly event soon. Meanwhile, a bunch of our teenagers are beginning to reform around a combination of BBQ and ‘Euros’, can there be a better combination?

So much for us to rejoice about and some stuff to keep working and praying for.
