Newsy Email #236 - Saturday 24th July

Sunday 25th July Services
Tomorrow morning, Revd. Robin will be preaching at both the 9am Holy Communion service and 11am Family Communion service.
Since it's his final week here at St. Wilfrid’s, refreshments will be served in-between the services from 10-11am. Do come along to give thanks and say goodbye to Robin. If you're coming to the Family Communion service with children, don’t forget to bring a big box to help Robin with his sermon!

God Shines on Calverley
As we say au revoir to The Reverend Canon Robin Gamble, we give our thanks and Praise to God for all he has brought to Calverley and this community, his Ministry to our Church and its people, and pray that Father God will inspire him to continue evangelising the Good News wherever The Holy Spirt takes him next.

We acknowledge and give thanks to the many who donate flowers throughout the year in memory of loved ones, it’s a beautiful reminder of the beauty of God within the Church, his flowers adorning the Holy altar.
If you would be interested in donating or helping arrange the flowers, please contact [email protected] who will be pleased to help you.

We thank God for our small IT team, David and Toby, for preparing and conducting our weekly Sunday services upstairs, sharing the services on our YouTube channel, providing Morning Prayer to everyone every weekday, for maintaining our website, and various other technical infrastructure, including this very Newsy Email! They both provide a very professional presentation and service in an ancient setting with sensitivity and is yet another act of Worship to God. Watch this space for more of Gods People doing his work at our Church.

News on the Home Front
As Robin departs, life at Calverley Parish Church continues, albeit at a slightly slower pace throughout August. Our Retired Priests, Rev. Paul Hartley and Rev. Sue Ward, will preside at the Traditional Holy Communion Services, ably supported by a team of lay people.

The summer holidays are with us and as our two schools prepare to break up, we give thanks for both head teachers, Mr Curran and Mr Steele, and all their staff for the sterling work they have done throughout this pandemic, and pray they will find rest and recuperation during this break. We look forward to joining with them again upon their return.

The Book of Jonah
This new series will begin next week, including reflections by Richard Jobes.
We look forward to the first set of readings and reflections which will be shared by email with us all tomorrow afternoon. Additional copies will also be sent to our Homegroup Leaders, and printed paper copies with illustrations will also be available at the back of church for anyone.
