God Shines on Calverley
The Psalmist tell us that "Children are a gift from God". We therefore give thanks to God for those volunteers who devote their time to teaching and nurturing those younger children who attend our church. Please hold in your prayers Rachel R and her team of Matt R, Sarah Cantwell, Rachel W, Nicola, and Margaret. As the church starts to open and its families start to return, we put a call out to those who have it on their hearts to help with our children’s work.
Please speak to Rachel R, or contact the [email protected], if you would like more information. We need your help!

The Church family pass on their Congratulations to Calverley-based Georgia Taylor-Brown upon winning a silver medal in the triathlon at this year’s Tokyo Olympics! What a fantastic achievement more so for the weather conditions she had to endure, as well as a puncture. Well done Georgia, and we hope she will visit us again soon, next time with her medal!

News on the Home Front
As we say a fond farewell and a big thank-you to Robin, we look forward to our new Vicar Rob and family joining us this September. By then, the church should be fully functioning again with Services every Sunday, and all our activities including Coffee Shop, Barn Babies, Messy Church, and Open the Book, up and running again. Watch this space for more News on when they reopen in September.

As the church starts to resume `normal service`, the servery will be opened to serve refreshments between the Sunday services again. If you're able to help serve, wash up, or just with clearing away, please have a word with Sandra or Dan, we need your help!

The ashes of Marjorie Anderson are being interred in our churchyard later today.
Marjorie was the Granddaughter of the Late Dr N. Hughes who practised in Calverley and lived at Shaftsbury House on Towngate for many years.
He was a Churchwarden in Calverley from 1914 to 1947 and was still active in church events into the 1950s.
The family of Marjorie have gifted an inscribed Silver Bowl that commemorates Dr. Hughes long service, to the safe keeping of our church.

Tomorrow morning, we have Communion at both the 9am & 11am services.
Paul and John will be preaching at the services, so do come along and join us in worship.
