Newsy Email #241 - Thursday 9th September

Hello there!
As I sit here, it has now been just over a week since I was installed, and what a week it’s been. It has been such a delight to start meeting the people who make up our community, to start hearing their stories, learning about their callings and passions, and delighting in the service they bring to the church.
They say it takes a village to do many things, and being a church is no different.
You’ll know St. Paul for talking about us as a body made of so many different parts, and it’s great to be meeting Calverley’s feet and hands, and spleens, kneecaps, and noses – or whatever we all are! (Please, don’t tell me which bit you think I am, not just yet!)

This church seems to be so blessed with so many people who know their part and are busy joining in, making it work for the rest of us, and for God.
If that’s you, great! I look forward to meeting you and hearing all about it.
If you haven’t found your niche yet, then I look forward to meeting you too, and starting to think and pray together. I truly believe we all have a part to play, be it turn up, smile and pray, or anything else.

All that ‘getting to know you’ stuff is so important, so let me invite you again to please join us all at this Sunday’s AMA lunch, where you can ask me or Victoria any questions you like (details below). Also, I’ll be in Church on Wednesday mornings from 11am for the next few weeks, so please, do come and find me.

Every Blessing,
Rob

Coffee Shop
We're now able to reopen our Friday Coffee Shop – yippee, it has been missed!
It will reopen on Friday 17th September, 9am-12pm in church. All are welcome.

Rotas
More people are always welcome to join the rotas at church.
If you think you would like to get more involved and help, please contact [email protected]. Some of the areas where you could help include the Friday coffee shop, reading at a Sunday service, sound desk assistant, welcoming on a Sunday morning, children’s work, gardening in the church yard, and the list goes on. Together we can do so much!

Organ Restoration Fundraisers
We have two social organ restoration fundraising events coming up soon. Thursday 7th October and Tuesday 12th October. Save the dates!
More details to follow soon...

Heritage Weekend
We're pleased to be part of the Heritage Open Days event taking place in Calverley this weekend. You're invited to visit this Saturday 11th, 10am-4pm, and Sunday 12th, 1pm-4pm. Come and discover our history, and follow the heritage trail. Look out for the alpacas & sheep in the churchyard!
Refreshments will be available in church.
Other venues around Calverley are also open over the weekend, for further information please click here to view the flyer and check page 2.

Ask Me Anything – This Sunday 12th!
We have something a bit different coming up this Sunday. After the services, at roughly 12pm we’ll be doing an AMA lunch - that’s an 'Ask Me Anything'!
Revd. Rob, Victoria, & Amelia will be sharing a little about what brought them here, and taking any questions you might have for them such as how did they meet, what’s their favourite cheese, or anything in between!
Just bring some food and some questions!
Everybody is welcome and they can't wait to meet you.

If you're unable to join us in church this Sunday afternoon, the AMA will be livestreamed on our YouTube channel here, and also available to watch later.
You're also welcome to begin submitting questions for Sunday's AMA by commenting on this Facebook Post here.

Following on from the above, you can also nip into church on a Wednesday.
The doors will be open 11am-12pm, where Rob will be available to have a chat and answer any questions you may have.
