Newsy Email #245 - Friday 15th September

Hello everyone,

One or two changes are coming this Sunday:
After a mammoth effort from our tech team over the course of the Pandemic, the time has come to put an end to livestreaming worship every Sunday morning.
Let me give a wholehearted Thank You to Toby and everyone else who has kept us connected and allowed us to be in church when we couldn’t be in church.
From now on, we’ll be streaming certain services, such as Remembrance Sunday, and some of the Christmas services, but will otherwise just be posting videos of the sermons on our website and YouTube channel every week.
We are of course continuing to bring Moring Prayer to you through the magic of the internet every Monday & Wednesday on our YouTube channel.

You'll also spot another difference this Sunday – a few of us will be playing music at the 11am service! We hope you enjoy singing along with the band, and if you have any inclination to join us, we will be playing again!
Do get in touch with [email protected] if you're interested.

Every blessing as the week draws to a close,
Rob

Remembrance Sunday - Sunday 14th November
This year’s Remembrance Sunday Service will begin in church at 10:30am.
Due to regulations, numbers are limited. If you would like to attend this service, please email the Parish [email protected], or put your name on the sheet at the back of church. For those unable to attend, this service will also be livestreamed to our YouTube channel.

Organ Restoration Fund
The organ fund currently stands at approx. £20,000. This includes donations and grants. We still have a further £10,000 to raise.
If you would like to contribute, donations and sponsorships can still be made online at calverley.church/organ.

Church Giving
Did you know you can give your offering to church by Standing Order?
It’s easy to set up, and enables you to control how much you give and when, and saves having to find the right change each week for the plate.
If this is something you would like to do, the forms to set up a Standing Order are available at the back of church, or you can contact Margaret Roundhill for more information at [email protected].

Alternatively, offering envelopes are still available.
If you wish to continue with this method of giving, please let Margaret know.

We still always welcome offerings the traditional way, when the plate is passed round during worship. Whichever method you choose, your offering is always received with gratitude and thanks.

The Alpacas
Help is required with the Alpacas.
Can you spare a couple of hours and be on the rota to help feed our beloved Alpacas, Pablo and Jeffery? It involves watering and feeding them before 10am, and again before it gets dark in the evening.
Please contact John Corbin at [email protected].

We give thanks...
To all who donated to the Harvest Festival. The money and goods have been passed to the Bradford North Foodbank where they will be put to very good use.

To Julie Horan and Kim Pollard for organising and leading the team of volunteer flower arrangers, and to all who volunteered. Job well done; I think you’ll all agree that the Harvest floral display in church looked wonderful.

To Simon & Kim Pollard for both been fully involved with all aspects of children’s work at St. Wilfrid’s for over 25 years. We were pleased to be able to show our appreciation by presenting them with a gift last week.
