Hi Everyone,
What a half term it has been! As we head off on our first bit of leave since starting, I’d like to just say how grateful we all are to have been made so welcome her at Calverley. Thank you all for your support.

As half term beckons, I am reminded of the need we all have for times of rest and refreshment, of Sabbath, of a chance to pause, to reconnect with God, ourselves, our callings, and our loved ones. I pray you all have space for that.

Tuesday Afternoon Group
The “Tuesday Afternoon Group” invites you to “TAG” along with us for some faith-filled fun and fellowship. We meet at 1:30pm on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Tuesday of each month in church. (Please check dates for December and Easter months.) The next TAG meet-up will be on Tuesday 2nd November.

Poppy Appeal 2021
We will be holding a stall for the Poppy Appeal in Church before and after both services on Sunday 31st October and Sunday 7th November.
There will be a variety of items available, including wooden crosses.

There will also be a Memorial fundraising event held on Tuesday 9th November at 6:30pm at Deeva Restaurant, in Farsley. The evening will begin to the sound of bagpipes, followed by a banquet style meal.
We're delighted to be joined by The President of the The Royal British Legion (Pudsey & Farsley Branch), Danny Dance, and our Guest speaker John Barker who will be regaling us with tales of Major Geoffrey Appleyard, the inspiration for 007 - James Bond was from Bramley!

All donations from the evening will go to this year's appeal.

Remembrance Service - Sunday 14th November
Our Remembrance Service will begin in church at 10:30am.
Due to regulations, numbers are limited in church.
If you would like to attend the service in church, please contact the [email protected] or put your name on the sheet at the back of church to book a seat. Please only attend church if you have had a seat confirmed.

Messy Church
Looking ahead, the next dates for Messy Church are Saturday 6th November and Saturday 4th December. Both will start at 3pm in church.

Musical Pie & Peas!
Come along for a fantastic evening of music, where you’ll have a chance to win a prize in the raffle, test your knowledge in the quiz, and enjoy tasty pie & peas!

Ask Me Anything – Sunday 21st November
On Sunday 21st November it’s an ‘Ask Me Anything’ service.
Do you have a question for Rev’d Rob about faith, the Bible or church?
Now’s your chance to ask it.
A question box is at the back of church for you to pop your questions in.

Cups and Creation
PCC were looking at our calling to join God in his mission, part of which is to Treasure Creation. This is a large topic, and we have much to think about, but one small step we had previously thought about was bringing our own cups to church for tea and coffee. So let us encourage you again to do that.
It might only be small step but reducing our consumption in this area is one in the right direction.
Free biscuits for the holiest or funniest cup! (We know – they are free anyway!)
