Hello Everyone,

It’s good to be back and landing straight into the middle of exciting times at St. Wilfrid’s. As you'll see below, we’re getting into the sharp end of our Vision series, with this Sunday’s joint service featuring an opportunity to explore the many ways people serve at Calverley Parish Church. Ever wanted to know what it’s like to look after the Alpacas? Come and find out!
People will be there to chat to about prayer, running small groups, gardening, helping with weddings & funerals, running coffee shop, and even preaching!

Having kicked off Lent this week with our Flippin’ Great Pancake Party on Tuesday and two beautiful reflective services on Ash Wednesday, one for our regular parishioners, and one with Y5 & Y6 from school, we’re now into the meat of Lent, and this year we're taking time to engage with Living in Love and Faith - the C of E’s course exploring identity, gender, and sexuality issues – more details below. I’m so glad we’re finding time and space to have this conversation.

One of the things I’m doing for lent is remembering to be grateful for every day. This week, so many of those moments of gratitude have been people here in the community - reaching out to help, stepping up in moments of crisis, or flourishing in new areas of calling.

Tomorrow is our first Sunday in Lent and will look a little different.
Join us at 10am in Church for a special joint service reflecting on Lent & continuing to look at the vision for Calverley Parish Church, and what ‘Time & Talent’ we are called to explore at Church!

Ask Me Anything – Next Sunday 13th
Next week sees this term’s AMA - your chance to put any of your questions to Rob &the Preaching Team. You can ask them on the spot, of course, but if you already know what you might want to ask, pop it in the basket at the back of church, or email [email protected] please. The more notice we have, the more research we can do to give you better answers.
I wonder what is on your hearts and minds? Questions about our Vision & Calling are especially encouraged, but I mean what I say – anything church or faith related goes!

Living in Love & Faith (Week 1) - Next Tuesday 8th, 7-9pm
This course will explore what it means to live in love & faith together as a Church. How do questions about identity, sexuality, relationships, and marriage fit within the bigger picture of the good news of Jesus Christ?
This is a safe place to explore these questions with each other.
Small groups will be invited to do the course, and we will also be running it in the Church on Tuesday evenings, and all are welcome – come young and old!
This is a 5 week course, broken into before & after Easter: March 8th, 15th, 22nd, and April 19th and 26th. To book a place, please contact [email protected], or you can just turn up on the night.
