Saturday 8th October sees the first ever Beer Festival at St. Wilfrid’s Parish Church, Calverley. This event has been months in the planning, and we’re hoping to be a source of joy, community connections, as well as a fundraiser for the church. We will have 15x real ales from local craft breweries on sale, including a special St. Wilfrid’s Ale brewed just for this event. Also, prosecco and a selection of foods will be available to purchase.
Like many today, spiralling overhead costs are starting to hit us hard and our local church is no different. We currently need £10,000 a month to run the church, and while much of this is met by the generous regular giving of our faithful congregation - no income comes from the Church of England or the Government. We have to generate all our own funding to keep the church open & running for the benefit of the community we love.
To help make this event a success, we are looking for both corporate and individual sponsors. Sponsorship can start at £50 up to £150 to sponsor a whole a barrel of beer. Of course, we’d love to show our thanks – all sponsors will get a complementary package, including free access to the festival!
The event starts at 11am and is open until 10pm, tickets are £10 (pre-booked) or £12 (on the door). For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit calverley.church/beer
