As you may know, we will be working through some material on Spiritual Disciplines from the diocese called 'Rhythm of Life' - a set of resources to help us look at how we can join in with God to grow our faith. Alongside the standard adult material that we’ll be doing at church and in small groups, there is also some stuff aimed at young people and families that you might like to do at home.

Each week in lent comes with a link to a page with a short video, and then a set of suggestions with how we might explore the story further. The 1st one is about Jesus getting baptised, which we can then look at through the seven aspects of the Rhythm of Life: Praying, Encouraging, Sharing, Reflecting, Celebrating, Resting, and Creating. For instance, the praying tab says this:

Do you remember a Christening?
Think about how special Baptism is (you are baptised at a Christening).
Have a dish of water to put your fingers in as you pray:
Thank you, Heavenly Father for the gift of Baptism.
Jesus was baptised to show us how important it is to be a member of God’s family. Thank you for my own Christening (if you have been Christened/baptised already). Help me to know that you love me and that I am special to you, Amen.

And the encouraging section says this:

During a Christening nowadays, lots of people including parents and godparents promise to encourage the person being baptised to grow in their faith. There are loads of ways to encourage people’s faith. Why not write someone a letter to say you’re thinking of them and praying for them?

Links to the 7 weeks material are below, one a week will take us right up to Easter. Feel free to choose the discipline that most resonates with you, or do a different one each day of the week! I hope you find them helpful and fun to do together!
