To What Else Can I Turn?

Everyone’s journey is different, and mine started with a question.
Why would someone leave a well-paying job, train to be a Vicar, if the God that he spoke about was not real? I had a surprise visit from a Vicar, giving me an opportunity to ask all life’s difficult questions. Testing his faith and my understanding of a God that he obviously knew so personally.
The meeting was accidental, but little did I realise at the time that nothing is accidental with God. I was impressed by the vicar’s personality, I was on his wavelength, it made logical sense. What did a relationship with the maker of heaven and earth mean? So intimate one could call him father?
I wanted that sort of relationship. I needed to find it out for myself, which sent me on my quest.

As promised, I found that pearl of great price, the source of joy that surpasses understanding. The God shaped hole within my heart was filled, my life had meaning and purpose, far beyond a loving family and the material.
I established that I could not earn God’s love, he made me as I am, warts and all. We have journeyed together ever since, being content in the knowledge that I am unfinished. I am loved and accepted for who I am by the maker of the heavens and the earth, a glorious reality.
My spiritual needs have been met - I am at peace.

What about you, how is your spiritual life fairing?
