Newsy Email #65 - Wednesday 22nd May

Dear All,

Exciting news... We now have three Alpacas in our Churchyard! They are still settling in, but they will be a great help in managing the vegetation, and they are lovely animals. If you'd like to go and see them, please take note of the signs on the fence: they are not pets and may spit if they become distressed! Also, please don't let children go into the enclosure unaccompanied.

For those of you who like to come to Coffee Shop, it will be closing at 11am this week, so that we can get the Church ready for a big funeral in the afternoon.

At the weekend, there is no Saturday service because of half term, and on Sunday we have our Traditional Communion service at 9am, followed by the Family Service at 10.45, followed by two Baptisms at 1pm.

All our usual mid-week activities will be taking a break next week for half term, but we do have Messy Church on Saturday 1st June at 3pm, with a theme of Pentecost!

Naomi would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came to the wine-tasting last Friday night and gave their generous support. They collected over £1000 and are still counting, so that is a fantastic result, which will go directly to funding the project in India (not Minnie's own expenses). So once again, a big thank you to all from Minnie and the team at Yearoutindia.com.

Do take a look at the 'Thy Kingdom Come' prayer materials being promoted by the Archbishop of Canterbury, designed to help us go deeper with God in our prayer lives.
There are two free online resources that you might like to look at; the Prayer Journal (click here) and the Novena (click here) (a lovely booklet with artwork, and meditations as well as a prayer for each day).

There's also a thought-provoking video (click here) on what praising God means that I'd recommend watching.

With best wishes,
Revd Sue.
