Newsy Email #70 - Wednesday 19th June

Dear All,

The Newsy Email this week comes courtesy of your Churchwardens, as Rev. Sue is away on holiday in Northumberland this week.

We had some great services last weekend, with our Saturday evening service and Trinity Sunday Communion services with Rev. Paul Hartley presiding, and our reader John Corbin leading the way. You can listen again to his sermon at cpchur.ch/sermons.

Coming up this weekend we have our Saturday Family Communion Service at 5.30pm, and on Sunday our 1st Sunday after Trinity 9.00am Traditional Communion Service, and finally our 10.45am All Age Family Service, led by Rev. Paul Hartley.

We have been busy lately making some improvements in The Barn, with a team of volunteers recently getting together to paint the upstairs rooms, and what a difference it has made! A big thank you goes out to everyone involved.
We just need to finish the wood staining of the windowsills etc. before we have the new carpet fitted, and were wondering if anyone else could spare a little time? It shouldn’t take too long, if any of you could spare a couple of hours, perhaps one Saturday morning, then please come and speak to either of us, we would be delighted to hear from you.

We are also wanting to put up an additional noticeboard inside Church, where people can more easily find out what’s going on and have details of who to contact (with photos etc.) Do you have or know of a free-standing noticeboard that is looking for a new home? If so, we would love to hear from you!

Just a reminder that for those of you who are able bodied and travel to Church by car on a Sunday morning, could we please respectfully ask that you park in the school playground (open from 8am.), rather than parking in the pavement area in front of Church? We need to keep this area as clear as possible for those who are disabled, and in particular the Champion House vehicle, enabling those who are less able bodied to park, so they can get in to Church more easily. Thank you for your consideration and understanding on this.

Finally, a reminder of our Church Social evening on Saturday 6th July, 6.30pm to 9pm. With food, dancing, and games! This promises to be a great Church family event, and children welcome (accompanied by their parents). Sign-up sheets will be available this Sunday for the 'bring & share' food.

With best wishes,
Sandra and Dan
