Coronavirus Updates

Last Updated: 5th April 2021

We now have two services in church each Sunday morning at 9am and at 11am, and these no longer need to be pre-booked.

Full COVID-safety measures are in place.
Please wear a face covering, maintain social distancing, and do not socialise with people who are not in your household ‘bubble’ when you come to church.
Also, please do not come if you or anyone in your household has tested positive for COVID, has any symptoms that may be due to COVID, or have been asked to self-isolate.

The 11am Sunday service is livestreamed to our YouTube channel each week, and you can catch up with sermons later via our website here.

Details of upcoming services and recent developments are posted to our Facebook page and are sent out in our Newsy emails.
If you would like to receive these weekly emails, please click here to sign up.

Online Morning Prayer is taking a break after Easter, and will resume again on Monday 12th April, at 8am, or any time after that each Monday to Friday on our YouTube channel.
We follow a pattern of prayers, readings, and a reflection, based on the Church of England Daily Prayer app, led by a different member of the team each day.

Do come and join us at any of our services, online or in church!

28th February 2021 Update:
We will be re-opening church for services, starting Sunday 7th March, for one special 10:30am ‘Calverley Remembers’ service (now fully booked), and continuing with two services each Sunday at 9am and at 11am after that date.

Places for all Sunday services need to be booked by emailing [email protected].

Full COVID-safety measures are in place. Sunday services will also be livestreamed on our YouTube channel at 10:30am on the 7th March, and thereafter at 11am each Sunday.

Details of services coming up and recent developments are posted on our Facebook page each week, and are sent out in our Newsy emails. If you would like to receive these weekly emails, please sign up here.

Online Daily Morning Prayer continues, Monday to Friday, from 8am on our YouTube channel. We follow a pattern of prayers, readings, and a reflection, based on the Church of England Daily Prayer app, led by a different member of the team each day.

10th January 2021 Update:
In view of advice received from Leeds City Council, and our wish to keep everyone safe and to be responsible, we have decided to close church for public worship as from today, and to move all our services online.
This is not a decision which has been taken lightly, but it is important that we do everything we can to safeguard the health of everyone who comes to church, and those around us in our community.

From now onwards, a service filmed in church will be available at 9am each Sunday morning on our YouTube channel, remaining online for those who would like to catch up later.

As we are unable to see each other in person, we are going to start a time for online coffee and fellowship at 11am on Sundays.
Please sign up for our Newsy Emails here if you would like to receive an invitation.

We continue to offer Daily Morning Prayer Services, Monday to Friday, premiered each day at 8am also on our YouTube channel.
We follow a pattern of prayers, readings, and a reflection, based on the Church of England Daily Prayers, lasting no more than 15 minutes, designed to help you start your day with God.
These prayers are led by a different member of the team each day, so do join us!

We will also continue to offer other sources of spiritual support during Lockdown on our Facebook page, and in our Newsy Emails, so please keep an eye on our Facebook page here, which is updated regularly, and sign up for our Newsy Emails here so that we can keep you in touch with new developments.

May God bless us and give us his peace.
Please contact us here if we can be of any help, or if you would like to find out more about the life of Calverley Parish.

4th January 2021 Update:
Places of worship can remain open for communal worship under the new National Lockdown announced today. However, we have decided to reduce the number of Sunday services to just one each Sunday during the month of January at least, in view of the current COVID situation, and our wish to keep everyone safe. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page, and sign up for our Newsy emails, for the latest news of developments.

Starting on 10th January, we will have a Family Communion service at 10:30am each Sunday, which will also be live streamed on our YouTube channel at 10:30am (not 11am).

Details of Sunday services coming up are posted on our Facebook page each week, and are sent out in our Newsy emails. If you would like to receive these weekly emails, please sign up by clicking here.

You don’t have to pre-book services now, and we continue to have full COVID-secure measures in place, so we hope that everyone will feel safe coming to church. If you are unable to join us in person, or would feel safer staying at home, you are welcome to join us live online via our YouTube channel.

When you come to church, please check in with the NHS test and trace app, sanitise your hands on arrival and departure, follow the one-way system in church, and wear a face covering. You will be directed to an appropriate socially-distanced place for you (and your family bubble) to sit, and we’d like to remind you that we are not allowed to stay and ‘mingle’ with other households in church, or in the church grounds, after the service.

Please do not attend if you or anyone in your household has symptoms of Coronavirus.
