Newsy Email #119 - Wednesday 25th March

Hi folks,

Here's a link to the first instalment of the Wednesday Philippians series titled "Living Under Pressure".

People are beginning to express being a bit weary. This is normal.
In an article I’ve just read, when a community is faced with trauma, there is often a phase where people are desperate to get involved, which is great. But it does progress onto a phase that could be described as the ‘disillusioned phase’ which is where we realise that we feel disoriented as we try to make sense of things.

Be prepared for that feeling, and for difficulty doing simple things, like making decisions, and anxiety like a background soundtrack in your mind.
At some point, there will be a degree of integrating the new reality into life, but this will still take time. What's helpful is to stay connected with people and not to pretend all is fine when it isn’t.

It’s going to be a marathon rather than a sprint and we all need to live in an emotionally sustainable way. So, go easy on yourselves, each other, and develop new rhythms that work for you.

Blessings,
Phil
