Newsy Email #128 - Wednesday 8th April

Dear friends,

Please click here to watch our Communion Service for this Wednesday in Holy Week, including a great Celtic Worship version of 'In Christ Alone'.

Well, Easter is fast approaching.
As mentioned, there's a Communion Service on Maundy Thursday.
On Friday, we'll have a simple service to celebrate Jesus dying on the cross.
Then at 2pm on Good Friday, The Hour at the Cross service will take place.
On Easter Sunday morning, we'll start the day with an early Morning Vigil Service. And then at 10:45am, our Family Service will take place.

Over the next few days, we're going to be building an Easter Garden in our Churchyard, which you can come see being added to every day until Sunday.
I’d like to encourage parents to see if they can build their own Easter Garden with the kids. Here’s a link to just one way that you like to might do it, but then send me some photos of your completed Gardens!

We had a great response yesterday with collections for the Pudsey Community Project Hub. Thank you! On Friday morning I’ll put out two tables.
As mentioned previously, the tables are in the porch, so you simply drop off, no need to enter, and we will process later and drop off at Pudsey Parish Church.

It’s been lovely to see people supporting our over-70s in the past month.
Calls continue to come in, which are then referred on to a volunteer.
Thank you all.

The admission of the Prime Minister to ICU does bring home the true and present danger of this virus. Please do continue to maintain all the recommended precautions. That is what we are called to do at this time, and to protect those most vulnerable.

Here are a few prayer points for this day:
• Pray for the PM as he continues to receive care.
• Pray for all our NHS staff.
• Pray for those in social care.
• Pray for the busy paramedics, pharmacists, and funeral directors.
• Pray for those ill, isolated, or struggling at this time.
• Give thanks for some signs that the measures are working.
• Pray for the witness of the Church at this time.

Stay safe, live simply and lovingly, in the power of God’s spirit.

Blessings,
Phil
