Newsy Email #142 - Friday 1st May

Dear friends,
Well, it has been another eventful week.

We're still very grateful for all who continue to support people in our community. Through food shopping, and emotional support. Keep it up! For some, this is a very difficult and hard time. If you’re concerned about anyone, please reply and let us know. Also, if in doubt, err on the side of calling people to check on them. They will be grateful.

I’ve been amazed to see the number of people visiting our Churchyard last month. On sunny days, I would guess at least 100 people, families mainly, are coming to see the goats and alpacas, or just to walk around our Churchyard during their daily exercise. It’s an important ministry, the ministry of green space and animals for people to connect with and enjoy.

John Corbin has provided the below update about the Churchyard:
Despite being in lockdown, work continues in the Churchyard, albeit in accordance with Government guidelines. The small band of volunteers (10), all of whom are retirees, use their daily hour of exercise to keep the grounds in a good state of maintenance. With grass cutting and strimming taking priority, since nobody told the grass we're in lockdown! This dedicated team attend as and when they're able to, ensuring they adhere to social distancing at all times, and it all seems to be working very well, so a big Thank You to them!
So far as our four-legged friends are concerned, they are being cared for by a separate, younger team of volunteers (4), who
regularly feed and water them.
Another big Thank You to that team!
It's so pleasing that during this period of enforced lockdown, the community are taking the opportunity to spend part of their hour of release enjoying the beauty of God’s creation, outdoors.
If you feel able to help us with the Churchyard in any way, please contact the [email protected]. Thank you.

Our Morning Prayer services have continued every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday on our YouTube Channel, with John & Pauline leading most this week.

Wednesday and Sunday services are still being published on our website.
There are surprises each week. I didn’t realise Gucci was so moved by my preaching until Wednesday when he joined me on the settee at the end!

This Sunday, our service will be published on the website at 10am.
I'm also having another Online Coffee Session at 10:45! I will include all those from last week, but please reply if you would also like an invitation to join us.

We're still supporting the Pudsey Community Project at Pudsey Parish Church, and donations have really picked up, which is amazing. Thank You all.
For those who would like to support our local Bradford North Foodbank, my suggestion is still to make a financial donation here. However, you could also bring supplies on Tuesday or Friday morning and label it ‘Bradford North Foodbank'. We’ll make sure it gets delivered to them.

As this crisis goes on, for some it’s a particular challenge. If you feel you’d like some extra support, please reply and just let me know.
If we know, then we can work something out together.

God bless,
Phil
