Newsy Email #153 - Wednesday 20th May

Dear friends,

I hope that you are all doing well this week.
If you missed either of our Morning Prayer Services this week, please visit our YouTube Channel. These services continued to be premiered weekdays at 8am (apart from Wednesdays).

We’ve come to the final session in our series looking at Philippians, titled 'Outrageous Contentment'. Please click here to worship on our website.
Next Wednesday, we’ll have a break before starting another series.
I’d also like to encourage Home Groups to take a break this week, which we normally do during school holidays. It’s a healthy and sustainable pattern.

The committal for Dennis Steele will take place at Rawdon Crematorium next Tuesday at 3:40pm. Please pray for Marjorie, John, Mark, and their families.
You may be aware that it's only for close family to attend, but perhaps you could mark it at home in some way?

We are starting to look at the way forward as a Church.
It looks like the Church of England will take a gradual approach to re-opening.
As of last week, clergy and licenced readers can now go into Church.
The second phase will relate to services such as funerals and weddings, but there are no dates or firm details about this phase just yet.
The final stage is when we will all be able to worship together again, with social distancing in place. I think this final stage will be some time coming, we just don’t know when that will be. I think September would be the earliest, but it may be some time after that. So, we seek to do what we can in our current situation.
I think God is still at work in lots of different ways, but it’s hard for us at this time.

One area that we’re beginning to think about is giving to Church.
For those using the envelope scheme, if you’d like them to be picked up, we can do so. Just contact myself or the Churchwardens and we’ll make arrangements.
For those who are able to travel around Calverley, you could drop them through the door at Margaret and Michael Roundhill’s at 7 Town Gate, Calverley.
For those who usually receive a record of what has been given for the past year, Margaret can also provide you with those details. Please contact her about that.
Finally, we're going to be setting up an Online Giving system soon, and this will be much easier, avoiding anything physical. More info soon.
Thank you for your understanding about giving at this time. We still have our financial obligations to the diocese, this year is just over £56,000, and giving is an important part of how we express faith in action.

Blessings,
Phil
