Newsy Email #171 - Friday 3rd July

Dear friends,

Another Sunday coming around. They seem to be here quicker each week!
This Sunday we'll be sharing our service at 9am, followed by our Online Coffee Morning at 11am. Kim will be bringing us the Kid's Talk and I’ll be preaching.
This week we’re looking at Shining for Jesus, and I want to look at it in terms of the people I’ve seen shining in my Christian walk over the last 7 years.

Many of you will be wondering when we're going to be worshipping together again. The government has made it clear that we can, however, we will be taking a bit more time to prepare and get things right.
I will keep you posted, as we look at it over the coming week.

Many thanks again to all who have cooked and/or shopped for the WYDAN project based at Garforth House. It's all very much appreciated by the residents.
Please pray for a long-term solution for them as the council is currently looking at removing the provision as soon as September.

Next Sunday the 12th, we're looking forward to hearing from Bishop Nick who will be preaching for us. I asked him if he would preach for us once more while I was still here, so we’re very grateful he’s made the time.
John Corbin will be preaching on 19th July, and then Ven. Paul Ayers, the archdeacon, will be with us on 26th July.

On a personal note, Rachel and I will be able to get married on Saturday 18th July at 1pm, following guidance from the government last week.
We can even have 30 guests at the service, which is great!

Please continue to pray for Malcolm Raistrick, Mike & Marylin Bush, and others who need our prayers at this time. I have been able to see Malcom in hospital following some relaxation of visiting rules and he would value our prayers.

Finally on a lighter note, yesterday I watched 'Marvellous'; A film about the story of Neil Baldwin, a man with learning difficulties navigating his way through life.
It is so funny, uplifting, and even makes you proud to be a part of the Church!
I recommend you watch it if you need a lift.

God bless,
Phil
