Important Newsy Email #178 - 29th July

Dear friends,
I hope you’re well.

It has been an eventful few weeks. And will continue to be!
Thank you for all your good wishes over the past month, and for all who have been very generous with your time and effort.

Please click here to visit our YouTube channel where you will find all our Morning Prayer services, including today’s from Pauline.
These MP services continue to be premiered at 8am every weekday.

We’re back to services in Church this Sunday at 10am, which is good news!
We’re trying to do this without a booking or ticketing system this week, and we will see how we get on. Every person over 11 will need to wear a face covering, sanitise hands upon entry, and complete a track & trace form.
We're also still maintaining a 2-metre social distancing rule.
The same service (liturgy, readings, sermon, & communion) will still be shared on our website this week, for those not attending in person.

The current plan for August is to have a single service at 10am each week, with the 1st and 3rd Sunday's being a more Traditional Communion Service, and the 2nd and 4th (& 5th) Sunday's being a more Contemporary Family Service.
If you can manage it, it would be very helpful if you could attend either this week, or next week, and not both please.
We can’t promise there won’t be some initial teething issues because of this.
While we want to accommodate as many as possible, it may be that some people can’t fit in the first week unfortunately. Please understand that if this is the case, we love you all, but we must follow guidelines.
As a general rule, the 1st and 3rd Sunday's will best suit those who normally attend the 9am Services, and the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Sunday's will best suit anyone who would usually attend the 10:45am Service.

Starting in September, we're going to resume two Sunday services.
The first will be at 9am, and will be a Traditional Communion Service, but with fewer hymns. The second will be at 11am, and a Contemporary Family Service.
These changes will enable a good period of time for cleaning between the services in September. These changes will also apply to the 1st Sunday of the month (so no large joint services for now).
We will be looking for people to join a cleaning team to prepare for the second service.

On a personal note, we are still planning to host a few days meeting with people in the Vicarage garden from 13th - 16th August before we move to Armley.
However, although the rules for outdoor get-togethers will allow up to 30, we're going to suggest that we just have 10 people attending in the garden at a time.
This is quite easy for us to do safely in such a large garden.
If you'd like to visit, please click here to email Rachel.
Our final service in Calverley will be on Sunday 13th September.
I’m hoping we can all have a distanced-picnic outdoors in the Churchyard after our final service, with families in bubbles. This is weather dependent, but if you could put it in your diary for now that would be great!

Please remember to pray for Sarah Gale following surgery, as well as Malcolm Raistrick, Marylin Bush, and all others known to us who need prayer at this time.

Finally, there is a lot of change happening at the moment, and I know that’s sometimes unsettling. It’s good to remember that God is constantly loving and gracious. Please keep praying and supporting each other as we work out how to serve God faithfully over the coming months.

Blessings,
Phil
