Make A Joyful Noise

What lovely spring days we’ve had amidst the rain! Taking a moment to notice the lovely amidst the dampness is a source of real blessing for me.

When we retired, we envisioned ourselves continuing our favourite activity: walking - and in all possible places! However, it was not to be.

We so love being part of St. Wilfrid’s. It’s a great community with much happiness in and around it. Thank you one and all!
However, I am learning that it is the individuals that create the joy and blessing. I am learning to appreciate and value the individual moments of kindness and to accept the help of those who are younger and fitter than me.
In fact, I am learning to celebrate the physical strength of others.
To be in a situation of need and to feel the strength of another person who has reached out is amazing and a real source of blessing.

So, let’s continue to reach out to one another, be it over coffee or a practical moment of help in the middle of a busy day. What a lovely community St. Wilf's is!

PS. if you feel a bit ‘on the outside’ maybe try sharing that feeling with someone you are coming to trust and see where that leads.

Blessing,
Sue Ward

Ring for the King
Sadly, the peal attempt on bank holiday Monday was lost after about 45 minutes. We started again and rang a quarter peal - 1260 Grandsire Triples: Cindy Maude 1, Maurice Calvert (C) 2, Peter C Kirby 3, Jane Lynch 4, Carole Kirby 5, Daniel T Calvert 6, R Andrew Sutherland 7, Andrew Paterson 8.
The band are keen to have a further attempt to ring a peal in celebration of the coronation, as it's such a unique event. We also hope to ring another quarter peal soon (watch this space!). The other ringers and myself, wish to express our thanks to those who took the time to visit the tower on Saturday.
You made a special occasion even more special. Everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable time ringing and socialising.
Thank you,
Maurice (Ringing Master)
